US-based pilot and modular process plants provider Xytel has selected Spanish overhead cranes and lifting solutions firm GH Cranes & Components for its expansion project.

Xytel is engaged in designing and constructing pilot and modular process plants for the chemical, petrochemical, and refining industries.

GH Cranes designs and manufactures a wide range of standardised and custom-engineered overhead cranes and crane kits for use in several industries for different applications.

For Xytel, GH Cranes has supplied a 20-ton capacity overhead crane that spans 75ft and features a 71′ under-hook.

The team completed the installation of the overhead crane within five days after its delivery.

With the overhead crane installation completed, the erecting crew from THS Constructors are preparing to install the end columns and overhead girders at the Xytel facility.

THS Constructors is a US-based design-build construction firm specialising in industrial, manufacturing, and commercial projects.

Xytel operations director Les Singleton, in a LinkedIn post, said: “The GH Cranes & Components installation team truly outdid themselves—completing the installation of the new overhead cranes just five days after delivery.

“Impressive 75-foot spans, 20-ton capacity, and 71′ under hook make these cranes a game-changer. Not to mention, the team worked tirelessly through the weekend to ensure everything was in place!

“Now, the THS Constructors, Inc. erecting crew is gearing up to install the end columns and overhead girders. It’s only a matter of time before the building is fully enclosed!”

GH Cranes offers overhead cranes in two styles, box girder and standard profile, and feature an integrated lifting mechanism, either a hoist or open winch.

The company’s optimised combination of crane structure and lifting mechanism is said to reduce hook approaches and maximise the useful area of the facility.

Recently, GH Cranes secured a multimillion-pound contract from Sheffield Forgemasters, to provide overhead cranes for its new machining facility.

Sheffield Forgemasters is a UK-based company focused on engineering and manufacturing large-scale castings and forgings for the defence, nuclear, and industrial sectors.

GH Cranes’ overhead cranes are expected to support Sheffield Forgemasters’ growing defence-sector operations, including contributions to the AUKUS defence pact.
