“Time to expand and time to keep on growing,” said Chris Keffer, MD, Van Beest, North America.
“Van Beest N. America moved into our new Houston facility in July of 2019. At that time, we thought that this space would last us for the next 10 years. After the pandemic we saw that our presence in North America was quickly growing and we knew that we had to do something to keep up with the growth. We were lucky enough that our neighbors were planning on moving into a new location due to an acquisition. I worked with them and our realtor to secure the space. From there, we opened up the adjoining wall, built a new warehouse office and added over 2000 new pallet locations.
“This new space will allow us to stock even more of our A and B items as well as add other product that we have not locally stocked to our N. American assortment. This will ultimately benefit the customer with better availability and additional product offerings from our N. American warehouses.
“We continue to grow and we are now ready for future growth in the North American Markets.
“I’m very excited about this additional space and am currently researching other strategic locations for additional warehousing in the market. We will continue to work as a team to justify additional warehouse space and broaden our presence in N. America.
“Thanks to all who have participated in the process. Growing pains are tough but necessary. Fill rate is important, but a satisfied customer is even more important.”
