McDal, a US-based provider of overhead hoists and crane systems, has installed a single-girder overhead bridge crane at a fabrication facility in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, US.
The crane features the R&M SX wire rope hoist from R&M Materials Handling, which offers efficient, safe, and precise material handling solutions.
The SX wire rope hoist features a large drum diameter that enables near true vertical lift and a frame design allowing closer end approaches than other hoists.
It provides standard configurations, including normal headroom, low headroom, and double girder designs, supporting capacities from 1/2 to 80 tons and 13 to 320ft lift heights.
The hoist provides lifting speeds ranging from 10/1.5 to 62/10 fpm (3/0.5 to 19/3 mpm) and accommodates various power supplies.
The SX wire rope hoist is suitable for diverse industrial applications and can be tailored to specific facility needs, including headroom, workflow, and environmental factors.
It features standard inverter controls on the trolley to reduce load swing and brake wear, load monitoring systems HoistMonitor, and HoistWatch, and a regenerative braking system.
R&M Materials Handling, in a LinkedIn post, said: “This recent installation features a 5-ton R&M SX wire rope hoist mounted on a single-girder overhead bridge crane, installed by McDal Corporation.
“Designed for efficiency, safety, and precision, this system is a great example of durable material handling solutions tailored to fabrication environments. Nice work to everyone involved!”
R&M Materials Handling, with over 90 years of experience in the overhead crane and hoist industry, supplies advanced lifting technology.
Recently, the company announced that Ohio-based Mazzella Companies, , installed a crane in Texas using R&M equipment.
RMM’s post said: “Another successful installation — Texas style! Proud to see our R&M equipment featured on this impressive crane, recently installed by Mazzella Companies. Partnerships like this help keep industries moving forward with strength and reliability.”
