Tri-State Overhead Crane has dispatched another complete crane system, featuring a 5-ton top-running single girder crane equipped with an R&M Materials Handling’s Spacemaster SX low-headroom wire rope hoist and a Magnetek Flex radio system.

The delivery also includes a 60-foot freestanding runway, designed to enhance material handling efficiency.

Founded in 1959, Tri-State Overhead Crane is a family-owned and operated manufacturer, supplier, and service provider of cranes and hoists across the Midwest.

Headquartered in Bridgeton, Missouri, the company specialises in manufacturing, sales, service, and repairs of overhead cranes, jib cranes, gantry cranes, crane pendants, wire ropes, and other material handling solutions.

The R&M Spacemaster SX wire rope hoist, which is part of the newly delivered system, is engineered for enhanced vertical lift and closer end approaches compared to other models.

The hoist offers standard configurations in normal headroom, low headroom, and double girder designs, catering to varied industrial requirements.

The Spacemaster SX wire rope hoist features load capacities ranging from 0.5 to 80 tons (500 to 80,000kg) and lifting heights spanning 13 to 320ft (4 to 100m).

It supports variable lifting speeds, with a range of 10/1.5 to 62/10 feet per minute (3/0.5 to 19/3 metres per minute), and is compatible with power supply configurations, including 208, 230, 460, 575/3/60 or 380/3/50.

The hoist is available in single-reeved or double-reeved options and includes load monitoring for enhanced safety and performance.

Additionally, it features two-speed hoisting and inverter-controlled trolley motions to extend equipment lifespan.

The wide capacity range and customisable configurations of the Spacemaster SX wire rope hoist make it suitable for a variety of industries.

Its design allows for optimised headroom usage and efficient workflow integration, accommodating diverse facility layouts and environmental conditions.
